The Gospel and the happy fool

What do we mean by it? The old paths refer to preaching the old gospel message, nothing changed, pure and simple revelation as taught in the Bible. Today, however, we see so many that have left the old paths.

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14).

Thus saith the LORD, stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where [is] the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, we will not walk [therein]. (Jeremiah 6:16).

AN old preacher once said the following, I believe the Bible, all of it, I believe that the whale swallowed Jonah, but if the Bible said that Jonah swallowed the whale, then I would still believe it, and if anyone cannot stand the naked truth being rubbed on a little thicker and a little faster than he had ever had it before then he better get out of here, and if God would empty your head and your heart with all the air that you have packed into them, then I will  preach enough truth to save you today.

The same preacher said that he believes every word that is written in that book (Who would say the same today, everyone would run to the Greek, or to the exit shouting fanatic), the old preacher would continue, call me a fool for it, but I tell you, I am a happy fool.

What do we mean by it? The old paths refer to preaching the old gospel message, nothing changed, pure and simple revelation as taught in the Bible. Today, however, we see so many that have left the old paths.

There are only two things in this world that are holy, unfortunately, many in the world have made so many things holy, from multitudes of religions, self-professed prophets, to godless lifestyles and worldly pursuits.

The truth of the matter is that only two things are holy in this world, a) the Holy Spirit, and b) the Holy Bible. Everything else is imperfect, fallible, and marred. We need to go back to the old paths of the gospel, to the Bible, to the revelation, and to belief.

The People

Doing right? That may sound simple and in fact its only two words, but stop and think how many times you have done it wrong, the reality is that in a world that everything is right, and doing whatever you want is doing right for you, we see a world that is totally wrong, the reason being people have been born wrong, and so must be born again.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).

Who wants to listen to such things today, people are more concerned about living in the new, forget the old paths they are all archaic. Live and let live is the mantra of the day, but the reality paints a truthful picture of wars, pestilence, hatred, illness, decay, and death.

Nothing in this world is right, and so people fall short and are unable to do right. Even in the church, we see so many self-proclaimed, self-obsessed, and the self-opinionated, we all need to get back on the old paths, believe the gospel, and preach the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation.
