The 16 million Jews in the world represent less than 1 percent of the world’s population.  Yet 30 percent of the billionaires in the world are Jewish.  Saudi Arabia next door is the world’s 18th largest economy, relying heavily on oil.

Talk of “collateral damage” is a decoy.  Egypt couldn’t care less about Palestinian civilians, and nor could Hamas.  That is self-evident.  What they are afraid of is that Palestine will end up democratic and not autocratic.  That’s the rub.

The proxy-war in the media, trying to sway public opinion, has shifted back to Israel’s advantage. That may change again, but expect several more weeks if not months of more urban warfare.

As Joseph Goebbels put it: “Keep the lie big, keep it simple, keep saying it and eventually they will believe it.” The Palestinian cause is trying hard to champion the plight of Palestinian civilians. The problem is that they are serving (intentionally or otherwise) as human shields. They have been protecting Hamas. Israel has declared war on Hamas, not on all Palestinians.
