What do you think is the divine purpose of marriage? I’m not talking about the notions you and I had about marriage.
What did God have in His mind when He instituted marriage in the Garden of Eden? Turn with me to Genesis 2:18.
According to the Bible, the number one purpose of marriage is companionship between man and his wife. God wants to be there in the company of man and woman as the invisible but perceivable element. They say three is a crowd, but it’s not so with God in the marriage.
Secondly, God desires that we raise a Godly generation through marriage (Malachi 2:15). If we get these two God-given objectives of the marital union right, most of the challenges that threaten the very fabric of marriage can be overcome.
