Open DoorsOPENDOORS USA, an international Christian ministry which supports and strengthens persecuted Christians in some of the world’s most dangerous countries, has named Christian Post as the recipient of its third annual ‘Passion for the Persecuted’ award.

The award is presented to a media organization which has established an on-going commitment to inform its readers/listeners/viewers about the plight of persecuted Christians around the world.

Christian Post is a pan-denominational, evangelical Christian website based in Washington, D.C.

The website was founded in July 2000 to deliver up-to-date news, information and commentaries relevant to Christians across denominational lines and to bring greater attention to activities of Christians and Christian organizations around the world. It is available in over 40 countries and in10 languages, reaching out to over 60 million people.

Open Doors USA president/CEO Carl Moeller states: “Christian Post has been a faithful partner in spreading news about Christian persecution and suffering. Through its accurate, professional and timely news stories and commentaries, it has raised awareness about suffering Christians. The Christian Post is on the cutting edge of news, wherever or whenever it happens. We are so thankful for their commitment to keeping Christians informed.”

“We wish to thank Open Doors for presenting Christian Post with the ‘Passion for the Persecuted’ award,” says Christian Post CEO William Anderson. “I credit our editors, reporters and staff for their extraordinary coverage of the persecuted church.

“We are humbled and honored. The Christian Post hopes to work harder than ever to bring the news of persecution to light. Our hope is this kind of award no longer needs to exist; Christians will no longer be persecuted, tortured and killed solely because of their faith in Jesus Christ. As we accept this award, our heart and our prayers go out all the more to our brothers and sisters in Christ who are deeply suffering for their faith around the world.” ANS
