Today’s Bible Verse is from James 1:17. James 1:17 says: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
The Bible says that the sun shines on the just and the unjust. What it means is this: The gifts of God the Father are not just reserved for those who have received salvation. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of Lights. | Watch Today’s Promise video |
James 1:17 also says that God does not change like shifting shadows. He is the same yesterday, today and forever! Hallelujah for such a gracious, loving Heavenly Father who is a giver at the very center of His heart!
In Matthew 7:7-11, Jesus encourages us to ask, seek and knock because God is a good Father and delights to give good gifts to His children. Like any healthy father/child relationship, it breaks the Father’s heart if we only seek Him for the things He gives us.
The most amazing thing that we can ever receive from God is the gift of Himself! For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…. Jesus is the best gift the Father has given us. We have such a loving God who does not want us to lose the gift of Jesus.
Shall we pray? Father God, we thank you for your free gifts. We thank you for the life you have given us, the strength we have, the sun, the moon, the rain and the other things of nature that we enjoy. We thank you especially for Jesus Christ, the best and the most perfect gift you have sent us. In Him and through Him we access and enjoy all other gifts that you have reserved for your children. Help us use your gifts wisely and thankfully. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
