In the Bible, Nineveh is called a 'great city; (Jonah 1:2). 'Nineveh was an exceedingly great city', says Jonah 3:3. At the time prophet Jonah visited the city, it had a population of 120,000.

The word tattoo did not enter into the English language until the late 1700s. This is probably why the KJV, written in the early 1600s, is closer to the literal translation saying, “ye shall not...print marks upon you.”
