MY friends, I don’t know about you, but as our global environment swirls into economic, moral and spiritual decay, I realize how much I need God every minute of my life to enable me fulfill my purpose in life and finish my Christian race well.
Finishing our Christian race well is for those who intentionally choose daily to reject the lies of satan by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are warned in the Scriptures that satan was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44).
Finishing our Christian race well requires:
Standing firm in the truth of God’s Word
The Bible declares that “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” Numbers 23:19.
This scripture is a double-edged sword for us. First, giving us that unshakeable faith, regardless of the lies satan is spreading in these last days, God’s Word will forever remain the same. Secondly, it should remind us that in our personal lives, no matter what the situation, circumstance or event satan throws at us, we MUST resolve not to give up because the truth of God’s word will indeed deliver us.
Worshiping of the Great Jehovah
Worshiping God is what we are created to do. So, we need to start practicing here on earth for what we will be spending eternity doing. Worshiping God shifts our focus from the demands this world makes on us physically, emotionally and spiritually, and we live life every day knowing that eternity with Christ awaits us.
Christ follower, daily pray for the empowerment of Holy Spirit to finish your Christian race well here on earth as you prepare for eternity. If you are currently not a Christ follower, before you can finish the Christian race well, you first need to come and receive the gift of salvation available to you through Jesus Christ. This requires repentance and an intentional decision to turn away from a lifestyle of sin. It is not too late – come.
