The prayer that is a game-changer!

‘And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before’  (Job 42:10).

THIS VERSE IS one of my favorites. It tells me prayer is a game-changer. This prayer is not a prayer for yourself. Job prayed for his friends. It’s an intercessory prayer. Prayers where you offer yourself up at the altar of God are game-changing prayers. An intercessory prayer guarantees absolute answer. It could be either be a ‘Yes’ or a ‘No’ or a ‘Wait.’ But intercessory prayers get definite responses from our prayer-answering God.

One prayer turned around Job’s life. That was no ordinary prayer. Job prayed for his friends. He prayed when his life was yet to be restored. He prayed when he was in misery himself. He prayed when he could not see any light at the end of the tunnel. He prayed even when he was in sackcloth, in ashes and scratching himself. That takes quite some effort.

One prayer restored Job’s fortunes. He prayed for others, but he and his friends were benefited. Job prayed for the people he knew. He prayed for the people God brought into his life.

Who are you praying for today? Who will you pray for today?

God brings people into our lives so we will represent Christ before them. So when you intercede for others, remember prayer is a game-changer.

Selfless, sacrificial prayer breaks bondage, moves heavens, wins souls, transforms people and changes your circumstances. So pray without ceasing.
