The one who asks others to give must be first a giver himself. That's what David's life teaches us.

God is the source of power and strength. Lean on Him. Ask Him for directions. Ask Him for wisdom. Ask Him for light in your path.

Who will you choose to believe today? Those that spread bad reports or those that try to encourage you with the Word of God?

Try giving as prescribed in the Bible. One tenth of your income to God and His work. Give to the poor and the destitute. Decide to support a poor child's education this academic year.

Remember we may stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ sooner than we think. And, the terror of the Lord will be unimaginable on those who decided to please themselves and the world in the body.

You can call his inaction as dereliction, oversight, disregard, or simply a lapse. But it all boils down to this: He simply does not want to take up any responsibilities.

Allow God to search the innards of your spirit and soul today. Allow His Word to shine upon you. Be humble enough to accept His findings when God shows the grossness of your heart. After all, God is the perfect physician and He comes up with the perfect diagnosis.
