STATING that the Sikhs and the Christians had always stood by each other, Bhatti said organizations like the RSS were bent on dividing these communities by the organisation of such functions.

“It is a fact that eight of them converted to Christianity at Ratanpura village under Sangrampur block in Munger, about 180 km from here, a few days back,” an official said.

"The RSS which claims to be upholding the culture of India and Hinduism hasn't really understood the essence of Indian culture and the essence of the Hindu religion. No wonder they are doing the cheap conversions," Fr. Francis Arackal said.

A church with a cross in it that belonged to the 7th Day Adventists overnight turned into a temple adorned with a portrait of Shiva after what some Hindu groups in Aligarh termed the "successful ghar wapasi" (reconversion) of 72 Valmikis who had become Christians in 1995.
