The Morning Devotional: The Judgement Seat of Christ

Remember we may stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ sooner than we think. And, the terror of the Lord will be unimaginable on those who decided to please themselves and the world in the body.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10).

FOLLOWERS of Christ are called to walk by faith, not by sight. What that means is ceasing from all works that are aimed at pleasing the world. The world always calls for proof or evidence to believe. It says show me proof and I will believe. But, Christians are asked to believe to see the glory of God (John 11:40).

Our reward is based on our work. ‘And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work,’ Jesus has told us in Rev. 22:12.

It’s the same truth that Apostle Paul is telling us in 2 Cor. 5:10. We will receive the things done in the body (while we were alive), according to what we have done. If you have done good things, you are sure to receive good things from the Lord, too.

Let us take care to do good things while we are alive. Things that bring God the glory. Things that proclaim the love of God. Things that lift up the Name of Jesus Christ. Remember we may stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ sooner than we think. And, the terror of the Lord will be unimaginable on those who rejected Jesus Christ and decided to please themselves and the world in the body.

There is not much time left. Do works of faith. Works that are well pleasing to God.

Have a good day! Read another devotional.
