‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’ (Acts 20:35).
GIVING is a gift that comes back to the giver. It is never in vain to give. Giving opens doors that you did not know even existed. Proverbs 18:16 says, ‘A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.’
‘A generous man will prosper; whoever refreshes others will himself be refreshed,’ says Proverbs 11:25. The one who gives to the poor lends to the Lord, says the Bible. ‘And He (God) will pay back what he has given,’ assures Proverbs 19:17.
‘Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you’ (Luke 6:38).
God delights in your giving and He will make sure you will have your reward. The One who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness (2 Corinthians 9:10).
Try giving as prescribed in the Bible. One tenth of your income to God and His work. Give to the poor and the destitute. Decide to support a poor child’s education this academic year. Pack an extra lunch for that old woman you see every day at the traffic signal on your way to work. Pay a visit to the ailing neighbor. Schedule a visit to an orphanage this month. Encourage your church to spend a day at an old age home. Make a commitment to support a missionary for the next few years until he is able to support another one. Find a slum in your neighborhood where you can teach a language or Math to the poor children. You will see God delighting in you. God bless. | Give! How to give to God’s work (Video sermon in Tamil)
