HE who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates friends (Proverbs 17:9).
Has anyone wronged you recently and you feel like going to the whole world and explaining your position and justifying yourself? Have you been ridden roughshod over? Do you feel pained, brutalized, hopeless and helpless? Remember, your Creator had been there, seen it and suffered it all.
When Jesus Christ stood chained in Pilate’s court, He knew He was the Son of God. He knew legions of angels were at His command and that He could summon them anytime He wanted. Because He was in human form, Jesus perhaps felt like throwing in the towel. But, He didn’t! And, that’s how salvation was made available to you and me. And, that’s how God got all the glory!
As long as Job went on reasoning about his righteousness to his friends, God did not to speak a word to Him. It was when Job finally gave up justifying himself that God spoke to him. In the end, Job had to pray for his friends who in the guise of comforting him were actually causing him a lot of pain.
Don’t keep on harping about how badly you have been treated. Remember Jesus was treated badly too. Isaiah 53:7 says: ‘He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.’
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth (Psalm 46:10).
Have a good day!
