Prior to the pandemic, we didn’t have a YouTube channel. Now it will never be the same. It’s a huge part of how we communicate with our church. We need to put even more energy and resources into this part of our ministry.

The ability and willingness to make the tough calls — and doing it well, however — is what often separates the successful leaders from the not so successful.

I’m 59 and I’ve not mastered this yet – even though I know how powerful prayer is for the believer. Our leader, Jesus was always walking in prayer with the Father.

Who you say you are and what you actually do are often two different things in the eyes of people who report to you. So, effective leaders and managers learn to manage how they are perceived as well as how they perform.

You can’t compare your ministry to other ministries and continue to feel good about yourself. There will always be someone doing something that appears “better” than how you’re doing. Although, having served in large and small churches – church plants and very established churches – let me just say it is all relative.

People want to follow someone who sets the bar for achievement high. There’s no intrinsic value in following easy-to-attain goals. (Jesus pushed the disciples beyond what they thought they could do. Recall Peter walking on water?)

When we planted Grace Community Church I had a vision. It was actually a 10-year old vision. It was a specific vision to reach people far from God, but it was broad.
