SmileysONLINE Christian forums were abuzz with discussions surrounding Osama bin Laden on Monday.

As soon as news broke out about his death at the hands of American troops in a firefight in Pakistan, discussion forums posted questions on the dreaded terrorist.

While most online groups asked its members on what should the Christian response to the news be, a few others touched upon a possible conspiracy angle to the news report.

Members of the online groups engaged each other in the discussion on the Christian response to Osama bin Laden’s death. While some said ‘justice was done’, a few others took a more generous view.

“Father, forgive him for he did not know what he did,” said one wag.

“My joy is not in his death. But that his death might mean that others might live,” said a user.

Another user said: “As Christians, our response is to look at bin Laden as a human being, which each person is most clearly seen to be at death. Since Christianity stands in strict opposition to nationalist ideas and goals, we don’t confuse our response as Christians and as Americans.”

A few users seemed to have been confused by the names Osama and Obama. One user posted in a group: “Obama is a man, made and loved by God, and God desires the salvation of his soul. We should pray for him.”
