BHARATIYA Janata Party president Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that his party was yet to take a call on whether to project or not anyone as prime ministerial candidate for the next Lok Sabha elections.
“Party’s parliamentary board will take a decision on this at an appropriate time”, he said parrying a volley of questions apparently in the wake of opinion among a section of party leaders to project Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as prime ministerial candidate.
The BJP chief evaded a reply t o a question whether the party would project anyone who built his fan base with aggressiveness or those who gained popularity among the masses with decency and decorum.
To another question about his possibility of leading the BJP as prime ministerial candidate, the BJP chief quipped “Party has entrusted me with the responsibility of the president and I am happy”.
Asked whether this meant that “Ganga Kinare Wala” would not get an opportunity to become prime ministerial candidate in the BJP, Singh quipped “Thank you”. Timesofindia
