READERS who love the epic world of C S Lewis’ books are being invited to return to that ‘world of wonder’ he created in the third movie installment of the beloved ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ series.

‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’ will be released on Blu-ray and DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment on April 8.

According to a media release, “Imagination comes to life with stunning special effects that bring the vast oceans and sprawling landscapes to life.”

The Blu-ray and DVD release “comes just in time for Easter, making the family favorite a perfect learning and teaching tool that encourages an influential, heartfelt and in-depth dialogue of faith amongst families, schools and churches nationwide (in the US).”

As the storyline goes, precocious siblings Lucy (Georgie Henley, ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ series) and Edmund Pevensie (Skandar Heynes, ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ series), along with their cousin Eustace (Will Poulter, Son of Rambow), are swallowed into a painting and transported back to Narnia.

“They join King Caspian (Ben Barnes, Dorian Gray) and a noble mouse named Reepicheep in a quest to rescue noble lords who had been lost fighting evil on another island,” says the news release about the adventure.

It goes on to say, “Aboard the magnificent ship The Dawn Treader, the courageous voyagers travel to mysterious islands where along the way they encounter many trials and dangers.”

The release says that, “Eventually reuniting with the Great Lion Aslan, the mission tests the characters’ faith and teaches valuable lessons of overcoming temptation, reconciliation, salvation and even heaven.”
