A village elder is all ears to Dr. Alya BattAS many as 320 people from Jinder Mehlu village in R S Pura 30 km away from Jammu town participated in the medical camp organized by The Christian Messenger ministries on May 7.

The villagers thronged the Government Middle School, the venue of the medical camp from 10 am. Although the camp was delayed by two hours, people waited patiently at the venue and greeted the team of doctors and volunteers with cheerful smiles.

People from various age groups stood in queue and registered their names before proceeding to meet with the doctors. Dr. Alya Batt and Dr Mir Ali Munawar examined the patients and prescribed medicines and nutritional supplements to them.

Operation Blessing India, a nonprofit, humanitarian organization that provides short-term medical aid, disaster relief and assistance to people in need around the world, provided drugs and nutritional supplements for the medical camp free of cost.

This is the first time Christian Messenger ministries is coordinating with Operation Blessing India for a medical camp outside Tamil Nadu. In the past, the two missions organizations have teamed up and conducted medical camps in several villages in Tamil Nadu since 2007.

While JK Millennium, a local organization, provided vehicles and facilitated doctors for the camp, Rev. Pankaj Lal Bardhan, a missionary, coordinated with the local evangelists and identified the venue for the camp.

The Christian Messenger ministries that support a mission field in Jammu planned and provided for the expenses for the camp.

The Christian Messenger holds medical camps in remote areas of the country where even primary medical care facilities are not available.
