Do you want us to pray for you? We would be happy to pray for your request along with other readers.

Email us at contact@christianmessenger.in or send your requests by post to THE CHRISTIAN MESSENGER, PO Box 3462, Anna Nagar, Chennai 600 040, Tamil Nadu, India.

Feb 8: Over 10,000 children are born with Thalassemia in India every year. Thalassemia is a recessive blood disease. Bone marrow transplantation is the only cure for Thalassemia. But unfortunately, there are only 10 centres across India that perform BMT. Pray that BMT treatment is made available in many more hospitals across the country. Pray that the incidence of Thalassemia is also reduced among our children.

Feb 9: According to a report quoting Kuwait’s foreign minister, the global financial meltdown has cost Arab nations $2.5 trillion in four months and led to 60% of development projects in the Persian Gulf region being put off or scrapped. Pray that Jehovah Jireh supplies all the needs of His children even amidst the global economic recession. Philippians 4:19.

Feb 10: Last month, two Catholic priests in the US, Rev. John Skehan and Rev. Francis Guinan, were accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from their church, St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Delray Beach, for years. One of them, 81-year-old Father Skehan pleaded guilty. Pray that these acts of misdemeanors do not spread among others holding high offices in the Lord’s ministry.

Feb 11: Twenty-eight percent of the nearly four million deaths of new-born children in the world in 2007 occurred in India, according to Nobel laureate environmentalist R K Pachauri. Despite strident steps taken in immunization, 40 percent of all the world’s children who are not immunized live in India. Pray that healthcare services improve in our country and thousands of lives are saved.

Feb 12: The Anti-Terrorism Squad probing the Malegaon blasts case has said in its charge-sheet that the accused wanted to create a separate Hindu nation and extensive attempts by the saffron terror brigade to network with Israel and Nepal. While thanking God for bringing their divisive agenda to light, pray that such elements don’t win in their efforts. Pray that this great nation belongs to all Indians irrespective of their religious or political affiliations.

Feb 13: Pray for your church. Pray for the pastor, the worship leaders or the choir, the Sunday school teachers and the ushers. Pray that the Lord will add new believers to the church as it happened in Acts 2:47.

Feb 14: Pray that the instructions of our God through Ephesians 5:22-33 concerning marriage is followed in every Christian home. Let believing Christian couples (not film stars or sportspersons) be the role models for their children. Pray that Christian couples impact their children’s lives positively and are able to point to the Lord Jesus. | Last week's prayer points |
