THE Christian Messenger distributed 40 Hindi Bibles to believers belonging to two rural churches in Jammu on May 8.

A team from the evangelical newspaper was on a visit to Jammu from May 6 to 9 as part of an outreach. The two village churches in Gande and Jinder Mehlu, approximately 30 km away from Jammu town, were identified as beneficiaries for the free Bible distribution plan by the newspaper’s local representative.

Of the 40 people who received the Bibles several of them were new believers. There were also a few believers whose torn and much-used Bibles were replaced with new Bibles.

The people received the Word of God with much excitement. Some of them were seen writing their names on their Bibles as soon as they received their own copies.

Several village churches in India boast of believers who do not possess their own Bibles. Either they are unable to afford them or they are not easily available to them.

Pastors Joginder and Pastor Mohinder of the churches in Jinder Mehlu and Gande were assisted by Rev Pankaj Lal and Robin Sam, founder of The Christian Messenger in the distribution of the Bibles.
